MOPS is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers.

We also believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We also welcome mothers-to-be who are expecting their first child. That’s a little confusing so let’s just stick with “MOPS.”

We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world.

MOPS at First Baptist wants to meet you where you are — in the thick of whatever you’re dealing with — and walk along side you. Sometimes it’s the hard stuff (infertility, marriage problems, loss) and sometimes it’s the mundane (sticky fingers, poopy diapers, goldfish crunched into your couch). Whatever it is, MOPS wants to help you face it bravely and to support you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

MOPS is a nondenominational Christian organization, but all mothers of preschoolers (from newborns on up!) are welcome, regardless of religious beliefs. Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Childcare is provided. Meetings begin in September and run through May. We hope to see you there! For meeting dates for the current year, see our Meeting 411.

MOPS at FBC is a charter of MOPS international. The MOPS international website, www.mops.org, has useful articles, tips and forums for mothers of preschoolers, as well as a MOPshop.
